Girl For Her Savior: Don't Be Unequally Yoked

From #girlforhersavior  -  “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
– 2 Corinthians 6:14
To be unequally yoked means to be a believer in a relationship with an unbeliever. This is a topic a lot of people want to push away because they don't want to believe dating an unbeliever is wrong, but it doesn't make it any less important.
Infatuation is real these days. People just want to date whoever they want to even if they know it's not meant to be! You may think it's fine to date an unbeliever because you can witness to them and help them find the Lord, but the Bible tells us not to— which means we shouldn't date them under any circumstance. You can witness to them without dating them, and if it's meant to be, God will convict the person and they'll find Him eventually.
This can be hard when you like someone a lot, but it's definitely worth the wait! There are many reasons why it can be unhealthy for your relationship with God when you date an unbeliever.
For one thing, when you become involved with someone who doesn't share the same passions and values as you, they'll want to jump into things faster than you want to. They might not want to stay pure before marriage even though you do and you might feel pressured to do something you'll regret later.
Another reason why you don't want to date an unbeliever is because they might be okay with your faith, but they'll also be okay with your sin so they might make you feel like your sin is alright and God accepts the wrong you're doing. You want someone who will encourage you to do right no matter what! The Bible even tells us not to surround ourselves with bad influences because they can change how we act.
I know someone who dated a Christian guy and he backslid so she broke up with him. He came to find the Lord again and now they're married and have been for years! So when you wait on God's plan and follow His Word, you will become happier than ever!
